The British Council’s Cape Farewell Youth Expedition 2008 was a voyage to the Arctic designed to raise awareness of climate change. Every province and territory of Canada was represented by a high student voyager and each student represented a team of students at his or her school. Two of these schools were sponsored by rare Charitable Research Reserve of Cambridge, Ontario. Please register by January 15th.

Join father and son team, Ken and Kevin Dance, to learn about hawks and owls. Kevin will present an illustrated talk on his graduate degree research on hawks and eagles moving through wind farms. Kevin has studied raptors and wind farms in Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario. Ken will use his collection of taxidermied hawks and owls to talk about the ecology of raptors and man. He’ll also tell a story about his recent trip to Scotland to view Sea Eagles and Golden Eagles. There will be time for audience members to share their experiences with raptors.
