As a major component to the celebration of the Centennial of the Faculty of Forestry at the University of Toronto, the challenge to develop a Comprehensive Global Vision of Forestry in the 21st Century through the convening of an International Congress in Toronto from September 30 to October 3, 2007 have been adopted. This global vision will be developed with the input from a broad range of experts and participants who share the concern with the state of our global forests as they relate to the environment and society. Invited speakers from key stakeholders will address major themes and issues in plenary sessions that will be followed by breakout discussions. These key stakeholders include international and government organizations, NGOs, scientists, the forest industry and aboriginal groups.
