North Branch Restoration Project’s primary reason for being is to assist the Forest Preserve District of Cook County and other agencies in protecting and restoring native Illinois ecosystems. They work toward this mission through hands-on ecological management and through education of landowners, volunteers, and the public. Increased understanding of the importance of native ecosystems by public agencies and the public is a key goal of their effort.
