Zerofootprint’s Personal Carbon Manager (PCM) is a web-based carbon calculator and social network that you can customize to match your lifestyle. You can measure, manage and track your carbon footprint, and connect and collaborate with others who share similar environmental goals.

The PCM aggregates the pledged carbon reductions of individuals highlighting how small changes make a big difference when aggregated with everyone else’s in a given community or group. Linked through a network we can have as much impact on the environment as a country, and create a country without borders.

The Zerofootprint Cities Initiative

Zerofootprint Cities Personal Carbon Manager was launched at the 2007 C40 Large Cities Climate Summit. Toronto’s Mayor at the time, David Miller, was also Chair of the C40 Group of Cities and challenged the mayors of the world’s largest cities to engage citizens around climate change. A number of metropolises accepted.

Cities and Communities are using the Zerofootprint Personal Carbon Manager to bring individuals together in the fight against climate change and can participate in Zerofootprint Initiatives. Initiatives are designed as grassroots marketing tools that will engage citizens in reducing carbon emissions through friendly competition. Read the Zerofootprint Edmonton Challenge to see how Edmonton is using the PCM tool to engage its citizens.

Zerofootprint Cities Personal Carbon Managers are in use by Austin, Boulder, London, Toronto, Ottawa, Peterborough and Edmonton.
