Industry-Wide Eco Index Will Rate Apparel on Sustainability

Judging by the recent actions of companies like Walmart and Samsung, sustainability indexes (aka green supply chain rating systems) are the next big thing in corporate social responsibility. So it isn’t all that surprising that a group of 100 retailers and apparel brands are joining together to form an industry-wide Eco Index—a software-based tool that allows companies to track product impacts through a series of questions on labor and environmental efforts.

Join the Barrie Run for Pole Pole! Support the Pole Pole Foundation, a Democratic Republic of Congo based not-for-profit with a focus on ape conservation. Join the 10k run/walk organized by Canadian volunteer Michelle DeJardine in Barrie, Ontario.

Michelle was inspired after hearing activist Lisa Shannon speak about the Zerofootprint Foundation’s projects supporting Pole Pole at our event in May. Through the Barrie Run for Pole Pole, donations are being collected to build schools and hire teachers for the children of Kahuzi Biega park rangers who protect their natural habitat.
