(OF)2: Our Footprints, Our Future!
Interactive Description of the Project!
"(OF)2: Our Footprints, Our Future!" is an international initiative that encourages youth (ages 19 and younger) from around the world to use online tools and resources to measure their carbon footprint and develop ways to reduce their carbon usage. The goal is for one million students around the world to join together with their families, their schools, and their communities to reduce the total global carbon footprint. (OF)2 is a partnership project between the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA), the International Education and Resource Network (iEARN), and the public television channel, Channel Thirteen.

Join the "Our Footprints, Our Future" carbon footprint learning circle project!
In 2008-2009, a series of Carbon Footprint Learning Circles will be hosted, comprised of classrooms from all around the world. Each circle will will essentially be a country without borders, working together to reduce their carbon footprint. We will be working with Elluminate in order for us to have access to their web conferencing tool so that each circle would be able to "meet" once a month in order to set goals, discuss progress, etc. In addition, we are having a networking tool set up for the project that would allow each circle to also communicate asynchronously. Each month, classes will use a different medium (prose, art, photography, video, etc) in order to communicate their activities to their learning circle. On Earth Day in April, we will then bring all of the different learning circles together via a 24 hour web and or video conference, passing the torch through the various time zones as each participant can celebrate their successes. If you have any ideas and/or you would like to participate in the project, please contact Jim jim@iearn-canada.org or Mali mali@iearn-canada.org at iEARN Canada
